Guide G4 Partner delivery
Partner fulfilment works only when client ownership and delivery boundaries are explicit.
Agencies, consultants, VARs, and IT practices need a different conversation from direct end clients. The first decision is not which task can be outsourced; it is how the partner remains accountable while delivery, communication, access, and escalation are divided.
G4 · Entry 01 Relationship first
Define who owns the client, the promise, and the work.
- Partner owns
- Client relationship, commercial promise, approved scope, expectation setting, and decisions that cannot be delegated.
- Delivery party may own
- Agreed technical tasks, evidence, updates, escalation signals, and handoff artifacts within a confirmed boundary.
- Shared decisions
- Access model, communication path, change approval, incident handling, quality review, and scope changes.
G4 · Entry 02 Handoff design
A useful partner brief answers four questions.
- Step 01
What is being delivered?
Name the repeatable service, project, or specialist task and the evidence that marks completion.
- Step 02
Who communicates with the client?
Decide whether delivery is behind the partner, co-delivered, or visibly specialist. Do not imply a white-label relationship where none is confirmed.
- Step 03
How does work enter and escalate?
Document intake, required context, approval, dependencies, urgent exceptions, and who resolves ambiguity.
- Step 04
How is delivery reviewed?
Agree on artifacts, acceptance, changes, and a cadence appropriate to the engagement-without inventing service levels.
G4 · Entry 03 Fit tests
Useful partner requests are specific about the operating model.
Good starting point
“We own the client relationship and need a defined Microsoft 365 delivery workstream with agreed artifacts and escalation.”
Needs clarification
“We need someone to handle all IT under our name.” The audience, scope, volume, access, client communication, and commercial boundary remain undefined.
Wrong route
A business seeking direct support should use a direct-service door. Partner fulfilment is not a concealed path for end-client help.
G4 Next
Use the disclosed partner inventory deliberately.
Partner-facing destinations are visibly identified in the owned directory. Their current offer and commercial terms must be verified on the destination itself.
